Send to KindleI have to admit I love Google plus. I love the ability to share content easily with the right people. For me Google Plus is more of an engagement mechanism than a broadcasting tool. Let’s hope it stays that way.
Today’s slide deck is about things you really shouldn’t do on Google Plus. Scroll to the bottom for the “Likeables”

Sarah,
Good points on how to improve Google+ by avoiding these mistakes. I found some things I need to do better.
I was curious about what you use for the slide show, so checked it out as well. Will probably use it.
Thanks for sharing. Great stuff!

Good morning, Sarah.
Like these slide deck presentations. How to keep ‘pen pushing’ yet still go with the flow and use different formats instead of the boring old blog – I jest!! love the blog
And so much less intimidating than video – think I’ll have to give it a go sometime in the next 5 years!
Meanwhile it seems I have a lot to do to improve my performance on Google+.
And with google+ in mind, may I just make a quick comment about Google+ Local?
I have been flabbergasted by the number of small businesses in my local area that don’t even know about this free service, let alone claimed their spot. It even works for those of us who work from home, but so much better for people with premises.
From a bloggers point of view (or at least one committed to promoting blogging as a way of marketing a business), not having a Google+ Local listing is sheer lunacy. It effectively gives a mini-website alongside the street view – so then the only thing the business owner really needs to focus on is building a quality blog. And so much more cost-efficient than a static website that they have to pay others to maintain!
Might just be a local thing, but somehow I don’t think so.
Kind regards,
L x

Hi Linda,
I’ve been experimenting with the slides to see if they increase engagement on the blog and what topic gets the most views here and on Slideshare (so far Twitter is the most popular).
You are absolutely right about Google Local and how people (including bloggers) are missing a trick by not have their details there. They also show nicely in the search results when someone does a geographic search.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting

Hi Sarah,
very interesting information.
I like the way you use slides to share your knowledge.
Google+ is one platform I have not been very active on so your post has been very useful.
Thank you so much.
