Send to KindleIf you have taken the Google Plus 30 day challenge, you’ll already know that I am the kind of person that likes to measure progress and activity as you go through the challenge. This is so you can determine what you are doing well and what you need to work on.
It will be no different for the 30 Day Pinterest Challenge
We’ll start by measuring your starting “Pinfluence”
There are a two tools currently available to measure Pinterest Influence, so just pick one and stick with that choice. You shouldn’t use one measuring metric to determine your starting Pinterest influence and another tool to measure your progress. The results will be skewed.
Note down your choice and then measure your starting Pinfluence.
How to use PinPuff:
When adding your username type the part after the / so if it says http://www.Pinterest.com/SarahArrow then SarahArrow is your username.
Then click the teal button to get your results.
This screen shares the results of your Pinfluence.
You can also get a breakdown of how your Pinterest Influence is calculated and the values that PinPuff attributes to your pins.
You can also see a measure of your activity and your reach. Make a note of these so you can see how you are progressing through the 30 day Pinterest challenge.
If you are already pinning you’ll see your top 20 boards chart, where you can see your likes, repins and other data.
Remember, these are your starting scores. The base you are building upon and are expected to be low.
PinClout
If you don’t fancy PinPuff at all you can always use PinClout to measure your influence on Pinterest. It doesn’t matter which one you use, you just have to stick with the same one. PinClout is not associated with Klout.
The registration process is slightly longer for PinClout
I’ve recorded a quick video showing you the PinClout process.
Again, like PinPuff you can see what boards are performing well and what boards need attention.
If you have the 30 day Pinterest challenge ebook or ecourse, make a note on the back cover or in one of the emails what your starting score is. This is what we will compare future Pinfluence against.
PS if you have found this page via a search engine or social media then welcome, this is an extract of the 30 day Pinterest challenge. If you like the idea of boosting your Pinterest use, you can grab a copy of the entire ebook here

Hello Team PinPuff, thanks for dropping by. PinPuff is a nifty tool and very useful
PinPuff – what are you trying to say?
Are you in competition with your hubby?
I know you’ll say… NO, but come on, I know you.
Information is brilliant and your video / text combination is unique.
BTW – site looks awesome now.

Thanks Keith, I am getting it (the site) to where it should be. But, you know how it is, you own site is always the last to be done
I do text and video as not everyone is into just video or just text, personally if a site is just video I click away… but then I have particular tastes
Hi Sarah! Thanks for the video and for introducing me to the concept of Pinfluence, I like the sound of that. LOL!

Pinterest, Pinfluential… we need a few more!
Pindigestion, pindividual, pindustry, pindoors, pinflation, pinflection, pincognito….
That should be enough.

Lol, that video was only recorded Friday. The social media world, it changes so fast
Thanks for letting me know Steven.
Thanks for this post, I only knew about PinPuff, not Pinclout. I love that people are starting to do analytics and create apps and tools around Pinterest!
